I'm glad you're here! A little about me... I'm a classic Libra who dabbles in many things, but I've always had a camera. I wanted to study both child psychology and art history. The arts won, because my top priority was studying art abroad in Florence.  Little did I know, parenting is a crash course in child psych, so voila!

My main camera is my Nikon D750 and go-to lenses are 24-70 and 70-200. I hand edit my photographs in both LR and Photoshop. Scroll down to learn more about the 'why' behind what I do...

I'm Kate!

there's beauty in life's chaos that deserves to be captured.

I believe

you'll never regret having family photos. but you'll regret not taking them.

It's my job to find the pretty light. Your job is to be exactly who you are, and have fun.

When I work with clients, it's not a one-time transaction. I love connecting with other families and building relationships with them. I get to know the parents and the kids -- I look for what they have in common with mine, I admire their milestones, I get sentimental with the babies, and I ask questions of teens try to understand that next chapter looming ahead of me.

I want to photograph the authentic, beautiful now for your family. I want you to be able to look back and remember when your baby had rolls, when your daughter was so attached to you she wouldn't let go for photographs, when your son refused to wear anything but a t-shirt. Because that's all part of your story...and the cliche is true -- time when kids are young is fleeting. Let's capture it.

I'm a visual person, and I've always wanted to tell stories through pictures. When I was really little, I thought writing and illustrating children's books would be the most amazing job (I was also a realist, and I knew drawing wasn't my natural talent).

After years of "borrowing" their cameras, my parents gave me my first Nikon SLR when I was a teen. I loved documenting family moments. I was acutely aware that my strongest memories were those I could reminisce on in photographs.

Fast forward to today: I'm fulfilling my dream of telling stories through pictures. My own family's story is messy -- the house is, literally, a mess with three kids. We've also ridden the roller coasters of sensory processing disorder, anxiety, ADHD, and more. I've learned that beautiful photographs come from chaos -- you just need to see that beauty and the pretty light!

I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE
