Glen Echo Park is one of my go-to spots for photo sessions. It’s a lovely mix of nature backdrops, historic buildings, and a bright carousel thrown in. GEP is also super kid friendly — clients often hit up the playground there for kids to burn off steam before or after a session.
GEP also has a special place in my heart, as I used to take art classes there as a child and teenager. It still has thriving visual arts programming for youth and adults, along with a resident artist program. [fun fact: I used to work at an art school and gallery and run a youth outreach program there, and before that I worked at a Smithsonian art museum, so I’m all about arts programming! So much so, I even got my graduate degree in arts management]
This family was so fun to photograph at the park. They’re so joyful and happy to be together — you could see as they gathered so tightly together for photos. And they were just so excited about doing a family photo shoot, even on a rainy / misty morning!
If you live in the DMV and haven’t been, check out GEP! And if you want a photo session there, call me 😉
