This family simply knows how to have fun. They’re so authentic in front of the camera, I just love it. This is my second time doing a family photo session with them, and the mama just has a vision of what she wants and — even more importantly — what feelings and vibe she wants captured in front of the camera. And besides authenticity, I’d say it’s “play.”

This was a full session, so we had plenty of time to take photos in different spots and outfits. We started upstairs in the girls’ room, bouncing in their fairy-like bed; moved down to their beautiful sunporch (side note: the first time I photographed them was the day they settled on their new home, and it looked NOTHING like this — what a gorgeous space they’ve created!!). Then we headed down the street to the trails that they love and spend so much time in.

Don’t so many of us take life too seriously? It’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind around us and forget about just being and being true to yourself. I love looking over the photos from this session, because they remind me how amazing it is to just relax in front of the camera and capture the here and now.
