As mothers, will we ever get over how much happens in a baby’s first year of life? It’s simply astounding, and even after watching my own three children through that 12 month evolution, I’m still floored by each of my newborn > one-year clients.
I don’t get on Facebook that often, so when I do and I see a baby update from a friend, my reaction is typically “Wait, wasn’t she born two weeks ago? but now she’s ten months old and wearing real person overalls and cruising along a couch and eating Cheerios??”
This family celebrated not just their son’s first birthday, but also their home’s. They’d purchased a fixer upper, and of course — because this is the way it works when you’re pregnant with your second child and are living in a temporary rental after you’ve sold your previous home — closing was delayed, permits were slow, then construction always has it’s delay moments, and yada yada… and it lined that the house would be done, with a permit of occupancy, the week before baby’s due date. Because, of course it would happen that way.
So this session was pretty awesome because for Baby W’s newborn shoot, everything was so darn new here. Now, they’d settled in as a family of four, and into their gorgeous new home. We all blinked, and Baby W. was standing with his dad’s assistance outside their now-landscaped front yard. That settledness made this session just so special. Enjoy a glimpse at this beautiful family in their gorgeous new home!
