Here is my third installment from my #TheFrontStepsProject photo series, which I did when the pandemic first hit us in March, right before Maryland issued stay-at-home orders. Read more about the project here, and the charity I chose — the Greater DC Diaper Bank.

This set is from Chevy Chase, Maryland. These families win the award for being the most flexible, because I had originally scheduled them for later in the week, but stay-at-home orders were announced midday on Monday March 30th, to be effective at 8pm that evening! I reached out to them all immediately and every one of these families made this evening work for photos. Their enthusiasm for the project and support for the Greater DC Diaper Bank was amazing — 100% of funds raised from this project went directly to the Diaper Bank! That truly is bringing a community together to help one another, even while we have to stay apart.

All of these photographs were taken as a gift to the participating families, to bring us together virtually while we must stay apart. In return, these made contributions to the Greater DC Diaper Bank. This project was modeled after #TheFrontStepsProject in Needham, MA by Kristen Collins and Cara Soulia, who started a beautiful photography and philanthropic movement embraced around the world. All photographs were taken from a safe distance, and my project ended immediately when Maryland’s stay-at-home orders went into place on March 30th.
