Fall mini sessions are underway, and I had the best time photographing families at DC’s Union Market. I hold most of my mini’s in natural settings, like parks and gardens, especially in later October to capture the changing fall foliage. And working with clients who have young children, I like to use spots that are easy to get to and have simple parking. But I always offer at least one that’s downtown, in a more urban or striking setting, such as The Wharf, the monuments, or, this year’s choice, Union Market. It’s just such a fun DC scene that is actually super family friendly, with a lot of picnic tables outside and a big rooftop green space for kids to run around. So it was a fun spot for families to come have their photographs taken, then hang out for casual breakfast and exploring.
