I’m excited to share photos from my Fall Mini Sessions at Rock Creek Park Nature Center. This was my first year using this location for mini’s and it was wonderful! October was the sweet spot there, because not only did we have the beautiful fall foliage, but there is a huge field of milkweed that was dying back, so tall brown stalks were topped by the seed pods of white fluff or floss. This textured, autumnal backdrop with the setting sun was just perfect, and it was nice and neutral so any color palette in attire worked well in front of it.
I also try to hold mini’s at spots that are logistically simple. That means ample and close parking, safe for children, central and easy to get to, convenient for parents to change kids’ clothes or diapers in the car, etc… This one checked all those boxes. When you’re already dealing with negotiating outfits and bribes with your kids, stressing about the drive or parking is not what parents need leading up to a photo session.
Here is a peek from my October Rock Creek Park mini’s — enjoy!
